Wog named female athlete of the year

University of Manitoba swimmer Kelsey Wog was named the female athlete of the year in Canadian university sports on Thursday.

Wog took home the Lieutenant Governor’s Athletic Award during a virtual awards show late in the day.
The fourth-year agriculture and food science student won four national gold medals, setting two U Sports records and posting the fastest time in the world this year in the 200-metre breaststroke.

She was previously named the U Sports female swimmer of the year and had her sights on the Canadian Olympic Trials when the pandemic shut down the season.
