With only one win in its first nine games, the two wins last week were a big bump for Port Dover.

Ben Mason (1G, 1A), Max Jolley (1G, 1A) and Peyton Adams-Matthews (2A) led the Sailors in their win against Niagara as Trevor Nunn, Aiden Cloet and Tyler Matthews also scored.

Josh Miscione stopped 32 shots in goal for the win.

The win against Glanbrook was a huge momentum boost as the Sailors came back from deficits of 3-0 and 4-2 to secure the win.

In a fight-filled game – there were 10 majors for fighting handed out at 12:17 of the third – Dylan Courier (2G, 1A) scored two late goals in the third period before Mason (2G, 1A) scored the overtime winner for Port Dover.

Cloet also scored while Brandon Homick picked up two assists. Miscione was the winner in goal once again, stopping 32 shots.

Unfortunately the Sailors couldn’t keep things going in the right direction as they lost 4-0 to Hagersville on Oct. 28 and 4-0 to Dunnville on Oct. 29. In both of those games Port Dover was short-handed due to the infractions players received from the game against Glanbrook.

Caledonia’s win streak hit five games with victories of 5-0 on Oct. 28 against St. Catharines and 3-2 in overtime on Oct. 29 versus Welland.

The 5-0 game was a forfeit. According to the Corvairs social media, St. Catharines used an ineligible player.

In the 3-2 game, Nathan Duplessis and Dylan Wardell scored in the third to erase a 2-0 deficit before Duplessis won it in overtime for the Corvairs.
