Bulldogs win streak hit four on weekend
Brantford beats Mississauga 3-0; leads East Division by four points; Drobac sets franchise record for goalie wins

The Brantford Bulldogs are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.
Following the team’s 3-0 road win against the Mississauga Steelheads (22-18-3-0) on Sunday, Brantford (22-12-6-2) now leads the Oshawa Generals (22-16-3-1) by four points for top spot in the OHL’s East Division.
The Bulldogs are also first in the Eastern Conference, two points ahead of the Central Division leading North Bay Battalion (22-15-5-1) with a game in hand.
Brantford’s win against Mississauga was the team’s fourth in a row.
Matteo Drobac stopped all 26 shots he faced against the Steelheads for his second shutout of the season. With the win, Drobac also became the Bulldogs career leader in wins for a goaltender with 56.
He surpasses Kaden Fulcher, who had 55.
Marek Vanacker continued his recent torrid pace with two more goals, bringing his season total to 22.
Calvin Crombie also scored with a pair of assists to Florian Xhekaj and one apiece to Zakary Lavoie, Noah Nelson and Jake O’Brien.
Brantford, which was outshot 26-24, was 1-for-6 on the power play.
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday when they are in Niagara to face the IceDogs (12-24-5-1) in a 7 p.m. game. Brantford then plays at home on Saturday against the Kingston Frontenacs (20-20-1-0) at 4 p.m. and on Sunday versus Mississauga at 2 p.m.
