The winger, while acknowledging it has been like that “since I got to Toronto,” wants no part of getting a new address.

“I believe in this group so much and I feel like we’ve grown together,” Nylander said. “We’re so close, but yet we didn’t win. I feel like the progress is there. I’m just focused on being here and getting ready for next year.”

Nylander likely will see that through. After player availability with media ended on Tuesday, general manager Kyle Dubas indicated he had little appetite for making broad changes.

Nylander, who had seven points in the seven-game series against Tampa Bay, said he was still digesting the Game 7 loss.

“The ending was really tough,” Nylander said. “I think it’s still hard to understand, because I felt like we were close, probably the closest we’ve been. You just have to learn from this.

“I think that we can reach even further and that’s the only positive thing that you can take out of this.”
