Following a 5-4 overtime loss against the Maple Leafs to kick off their 2021 season, the Canadiens are in Edmonton to face the Oilers for the first of two consecutive games against the club.

The Oilers pummelled the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 on Thursday, with their vaunted power play contributing two goals to the cause.

The ever-deadly duo of Connor McDavid (hat trick) and Leon Draisaitl (four assists) overmatched their former Pacific Division rivals.

The Habs and Oilers faceoff again Monday. While it was admittedly a small sample size, the Canadiens didn’t fare well against the Oilers last season, losing both matches.

The Canadiens are expected to use the same lineup as their season opener.

Puck drop is 7 p.m. at Rogers Place in Edmonton (SNE/W/P, CITY, TVA Sports, TSN 690 Radio, 98.5 FM).
