Doug Plumb will return as head coach after a COVID-truncated 2019-20 campaign, the team announced Wednesday .

“I’m excited to be back in the Forest City,” Plumb said in a statement. “It has been a challenging two years for everyone and we hope to bring some joy and normalcy back to everyone’s lives as we chase a championship and finish what we started.”

The team’s home opener is Feb. 11 at Budweiser Gardens.

The Bolts were leading the league’s central division with a 15-8 record when the 2019-20 season was scrubbed due to the pandemic.

“The London Lightning are excited to have Coach Plumb back for this season,” team GM Mark Frijia said. “We both feel like we have some unfinished business with how our last season ended and we know he is who we want on our sidelines.”

Plumb has previously served as the head coach of the St. John’s Edge.
