BlackJacks defeat Guelph, head to semis in CEBL Summer Series

The Ottawa BlackJacks provided proof of that Thursday night at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines.

The BlackJacks held the Guelph Nighthawks to 36 percent from the field in an 83-75 victory that puts them into the semifinal of the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s Summer Series.

They’ll now face the Edmonton Stingers on Saturday for the right to play in the championship game.

Olivier Hanlan led the way for the BlackJacks against the Nighthawks, scoring 19 points while adding six rebounds and four assists. Thomas Scrubb had 17 points and four rebounds while Johnny Berhanemeskel chipped in with 16 points and six rebounds.

Saturday game can be watched on CBCSports.ca, the CBC Gem App, Twitch (CEBLeague), and heard on TSN1200.
