No reason for sadness
Re: Sad for America (Letter, Nov. 19)
No Canadian should feel sad for America or Americans. In the past four years, more has been done in the U.S. for minorities, the economy and democracy than in any other time since the Civil War and the era of MLK and LBJ.
The writer should be aware of what has been accomplished just for Israel and for Jews, secular or religious. That fact seems to get forgotten.
And there is much more.
President Trump got more voters out to exercise their franchise than any previous leader. He got nearly 10 million more votes than in his initial run for office, although not enough. Biden got 14 million more than Clinton.
He woke Democrats out of their stupor. No small feat.
Trump’s amazing record will stand the test of history, even though it has been covered up by liberal papers, such as this one, and media outlets of all types.
He is the greatest statesman since Churchill, taking the shots and forging ahead. Compare him to our poor excuse for a leader and the turnout we get in Canada for any level of election.
