LETTER: Worried about ticks

After watching the Kitchener TV news today, they reported a major occurrence of ticks and tick bites in Ontario.

How about Wallaceburg along the Sydenham river especially in front of the River View Towers?

When we moved here in 2009, the riverside was always kept clear, providing clear access to the riverside for everyone.

But in the past year, Chatham-Kent has allowed extreme over growth there, with grass four feet high and very dense bush growth. In other words, a breeding ground for ticks.

Many people use the gravel walkways, with quite a few walking their dogs making them vulnerable to tick bite attack.

Why has Chatham Kent done this? Are they taking steps to reduce expenses by putting people and their pets in peril?
