I would like to suggest that our local print media try a little harder to bring us good, positive stories, at least once in a while?

Regarding the story in your Chronicle at the top of Page 7, in the Aug. 12 edition: “Another Bump in active Covid-19 cases….”

Please …. we should not be looking at cases. Of course the “cases” will be in greater number as there are more individuals tested. As we try to reboot our province and our businesses there has to be more individuals out and about. As this virus runs its course, there will be higher case numbers.

I had to read into the seventh paragraph of this article before I got to the GOOD news: No hospitalizations due to Covid-19! No institutional outbreaks in Oxford or Elgin counties!

Why couldn’t either of these facts have been your title for this article, and lead paragraphs?

Why not stress the positive once in a while as we all learn to be safe and fight through this man-made evil together?

As I write this letter, the Aug. 15 numbers for all of Ontario are as follows:

Deaths are zero.

The seven-day average for all of Ontario deaths from COVID is two.

Now that sounds like good news in the wars against COVID and negative thinking!
