It is in a deplorable state with all the bumps and unevenness starting from downtown through to Exmouth Street.

Tourism Sarnia promotes Sarnia Bay and St. Clair River, which run parallel to Centennial Place. It is a great destination for walkers, bikers, skateboarders, boat watchers, and families walking their children and dogs. If not walking to the park, they have to drive their cars down Front Street.

In November, the Celebration of Lights results in several weeks of heavy traffic on Front Street. Other areas to think about are the former Holmes Foundry property, which sits at the corner of Front and Exmouth. It has been demolished and will be rebuilt, which will one day result in heavier traffic on Front Street.

Then there is Blue Water Bridge traffic, which will no doubt be busy in the years to come, resulting in heavy usage of Front Street.

Before work starts on the plan to upgrade and showcase the waterfront, Front Street needs a facelift.
