This year the following changes will take place with the way we distribute poppies to raise funds for our veterans and their families and various community activities.

Poppy boxes will continue to be placed at businesses in Wallaceburg as usual, but we will not have veterans and volunteers located at major locations due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Poppy boxes will be on hand at businesses starting Friday, Oct. 30. Please be generous with your donations and support this vital service.

Remembrance Day at the cenotaph will also be impacted. We are only allowed to have a maximum of 100 people on hand. We are asking the public and most Legion members to stay away from the cenotaph unless they are assisting a veteran to attend. We want to make sure all veterans who wish to attend be service have first priority.

People wishing to purchase and place wreaths may do so. You may place your wreaths on Nov. 10 or after the formal service on Nov. 11. There will be no placing of wreaths during the service.

The government and dignitary wreaths will be put in place by the Legion.

Wreaths may be purchased at the branch ($50) by calling 519-627-6663 or dropping in during business hours (Thursday to Saturday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
