Hopeful for the future

We are coming up to the one-year mark of living with the pandemic. The pandemic has affected us disproportionately, some of us losing a bit of freedom and having to wear a mask, while others have lost loved ones, their livelihood, their homes and more.

At a time when there is understandably much despair, I remain hopeful. There has been no time in my life that I have been more proud of my fellow Canadians, as I see how people have stepped up to meet the challenges they are facing head on. There are so many examples of how Canadians of all ages and walks of life have found innovative ways to cope with the pandemic. They have gone above and beyond to keep their businesses operating, to do their jobs or learning online and more. People have also stepped up to the plate to help their families, front-line workers, shut-ins and the needy. Could write pages of other outstanding things that are being done.

I am so grateful for how our government has given out assistance to help throughout the pandemic. I am grateful for the fine job our government has done in purchasing vaccine and assisting the provinces with delivering it to us. I’m so grateful to be living in Canada, a country that cares.

It’s during these difficult times that we often see people’s true nature and I have to say that I am pleased with the wonderful things that are happening in this difficult, difficult time. We will get o the other side of this, and I feel our future is in good hands.

I have to feel very hopeful.
