Courtland gains ground on Ward’s Automotive

The weather is definitely playing havoc with the slo-pitch schedule lately! The Tillsonburg Ladies had to cancel last Wednesday pushing the regular season back further.
Forfeits have been the story in the Tillsonburg Men’s League this year as there has been an inordinate amount of them.
LADIES
Outcasts 16, TNT 14
Lady Outcasts: Megan Townsend 3-4, Tiara Graydon 4-4
TNT Multiservices: Jessica Ashley 4-4, Heather Hill 3-4
Lady Outcasts took over the lead in the sixth with a six-run rally. Nine of their 10 batters scored at least one run in the game.
Nesbitt Trucking 18, Challengers 12
Kyle Nesbitt Trucking: Morgan Boldt 4-4, Missy Falkins 5-5
Challengers: Greta Martens 3-4, Christina Klassen 4-5, Arminia Redecop HR
Missy Falkins and Teri Joosse led the winners with a pair of doubles. Falkins also scored four runs.
Court Farms 10, Sirens 9
Court: Taryn Sullivan 3-4, Abby Lauwerier 3-3, Myra Craig 2HR
Sirens: Michelle Hansford 5-5, Ling Wong 4-5
Myra Craig led Court Farms with a pair of three-run homers.
Collins 15, Trillium Court 1
Collins Harbour and Marina: Anita Dahl 3-3, Corrie Smith 3-3
Trillium: Steph Stephens 2-3, Ashley Gee 2-3
Collins plated six in their first two at-bats. Shannon Oneill drove in three on the night.
Foldens 13, Jays 13
Foldens Machine Works: Trisha McKenzie 4-4, Lisa Howey 4-4
Jays: Bernita Jordan 3-3, Mary Froese 3-4
Foldens scored four in the top half of the last and Jays responded with two in their half to tie the game. Trisha McKenzie, Lisa Howey and Maggie Scanlon hit triples for Foldens, and Mary Froese scored three runs for Jays.
MEN’S A
Frank’s Auto Hitmen won a pair last week to move to within three points of the idle first place Wild Wing Chaos.
G.C. Lounsbury moved within one point of third-place Hit N Run after beating Ward’s Automotive by one and defeating Townsend Lumber by six. Hit N Run played to a draw with Townsend.
Courtland Landscape and Grounds won a big matchup with Ward’s to pull into a tie for fifth with Ward’s and Townsend.

Johhny and Franky Klassen each drove in five for Hit N Run. Tim Dearden hit a pair of three-run homers for Townsend.

A seven-run sixth for G.C. keyed their win. Jarrett Anderson scored the eventual game-winning run.

Tyler Lamb was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle for Courtland L&G.

Frank’s easily handled the nine-man Courtland squad. Daniel Enns and Cam Bueckert each drove in five.

Frank’s hit their limit of homers in the mercy. Martin Klassen drove in four on the night.

Smitty’s Electric emerged with a one-run victory over second-place O&L Duct Design in a spirited affair last Thursday night. Smitty’s also won a game by forfeit over Team Awesome.
Pelicans scored five runs in their last at-bat winning by seven over Bird’s Ballers, also on Thursday.

Adam Jensen led Pelicans with a homer and double. Joe Kingsbury doubled twice. Owen Oates homered three times for Bird’s.

There is a new team atop the C loop as Designated Drinkers moved one point ahead of Sandy Shore Brew Jays.
The Drinkers mercied Smokin Bases while the Brew Jays forfeited to JNJ Concrete-Lubricare Jokers. JNJ also won a close one over the Tailgators.
John Beere won by forfeit last week over RLP Melanie Luksys and by one over J/E Bearing, tying them for third with JNJ.
Diamond Kings upset the Tailgators and Smokin Bases defeated J/E to round out the week’s action.
