An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Caressant Care Courtland after a staff member tested positive for the virus.
The declaration was made by Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit staff, said a media release issued Sunday night.
The staff member is currently in self-isolation at home.
Residents and staff at the facility will be tested, said the release.
No residents are sick with the coronavirus at this time. They are being self-isolated in their rooms.
Staff members wear personal protective equipment at all times.
An outbreak investigation is also underway at a seasonal farm workers’ residence. No confirmed positive cases have been confirmed at the residence, said the release.
A public health management plan has been initiated by the health unit.
