Woman injured in Tillsonburg robbery attempt

The Ontario Provincial Police Oxford County Detachment is investigating a robbery where a female victim was injured at a retail business parking lot on Broadway in Tillsonburg Sunday.

On July 28, between 4:30-5 p.m., the female victim was returning a shopping cart in the parking lot when she was approached from behind by an unknown male suspect who attempted to take her purse. During the struggle, the male brandished an edged weapon and caused injuries to the victim before fleeing the area.

Minor injuries were treated at the hospital and she was released.

The male suspect is described as white, 26-34 years of age, six feet tall with a average build, black hair, wearing blue jeans, a brown-coloured hoodie style sweatshirt and running shoes. The male suspect was further described as having a tattoo of an anchor on his wrist.

Members of the Oxford County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate and they ask anyone who may have noticed any suspicious persons or who may have any information regarding this incident to contact them at 1- 888 – 310 – 1122.
