A 39-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is facing charges after allegedly making herself at home after breaking into a Chatham residence.

Chatham-Kent police responded at 8:14 p.m. Monday after reports of a break and enter on Emma Street.

The accused allegedly entered the home, helped herself to a drink from the fridge and caused property damage, police said.

The woman is also accused of stealing keys to the home, police added.

The accused was arrested and charged with break and enter, mischief, theft and possession of stolen property, police said.

She was released with an Oct. 3 court date.

Pickup stolen

Chatham-Kent police are seeking help from the public finding a maroon 2008 Chevy Silverado pickup truck reported stolen from a Longwoods Road address in Chatham Township on Monday.

The vehicle was last seen with Ontario licence plate 5921FT.

Sarnia man found in stolen vehicle

A 44-year-old Sarnia man is in trouble with the law after Chatham-Kent police responded to a vehicle stopped at Base Line and Freedom Road intersection in Camden Township at 2:25 p.m. Monday.

Police said the lone occupant was found passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle that had been reported stolen from London.

The accused was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and issued a three-day driver’s licence suspension, police said.

He was released with a Sept. 26 court date.
