Two sent to London hospital after serious crash: C-K police

Two people were sent to a London hospital after a serious crash in Raleigh Township Thursday afternoon, Chatham-Kent police say.

Emergency crews responded about 3:10 p.m. after a pickup and SUV collided and rolled at Ninth Line and Wellwood Road in Raleigh Township, about 13 kilometres southwest of Chatham, police said.

The pickup went into the ditch, flipped and the driver was thrown, police said. The SUV also overturned but landed back on its wheels. Both vehicles came to rest in a field.

Both drivers were seriously hurt and taken to London for treatment, police said. A passenger with injuries not believed to be life-threatening was treated locally.

Man faces child luring charge

A Chatham-Kent man faces a child-luring charge after a internet child exploitation (ICE) unit probe, Chatham-Kent police say.

Officers began investigation a man’s activities on various social media platforms last month, police said in a release. ICE and intelligence officers arrested a suspect in Chatham Wednesday.

A Chatham-Kent man, 68, is charged with luring a child under 16 for a sexual purposes, police said in a release. He was held pending a bail hearing.

The alleged victim has been identified and offered necessary support, police said.

Sexual suspect surrenders

A man wanted on a sexual interference charge in Windsor has been arrested, Chatham-Kent police say.

The man surrendered at Chatham-Kent police headquarters Thursday evening, police said. Officers confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Windsor.

A Wallaceburg man, 24, was arrested and turned over to Windsor police.
