Effective 12 p.m. Monday, March 16, the Tillsonburg Regional Airport terminal building was closed to the public. This precautionary measure is being taken to minimize person-to-person contact. The closure includes suspending service in the café and restricting public access to the terminal building washrooms. Operations at the Flight School will be by appointment only. Air traffic in and out of the airport is unaffected at this time.

Distroscale

The Tillsonburg Fire Hall is also closed to the public in an effort to protect the health of emergency dispatchers and first responders. Public education activities in the community have also been cancelled until further notice. Emergency response in the community is continuing with the use of appropriate protective measures and safety protocols.

The Tillsonburg Community Centre, Annandale National Historic Site, the Town of Tillsonburg’s Operations building, Station Arts Centre and Oxford County Library (Tillsonburg Branch) remain closed to the public until further notice. Public access to the Corporate Office and Customer Service Centre is by appointment only.

“The Town recognizes that these changing service levels may present a challenge to some citizens, however we would not take this action if we did not believe it was in the best interest of the community,” said Town staff in a media release.

Breakfast with the Mayor postponed

The upcoming Chamber of Commerce Breakfast with the Mayor event, originally scheduled for March 31, has been postponed. A new date will be announced by the Tillsonburg District Chamber of Commerce when known.
