Woodstock police have charged a man with impaired driving and a handful of other charges after a single-car crash on Saturday.
According to police, officers responded at 8:20 p.m. Saturday to a single-car crash with a hydro pole on Towerline Road. Police said the car was traveling on the shoulder towards oncoming traffic when it “became airborne” and hit a hydro pole. The car crossed both lanes of traffic and landed in a ditch.
The driver was found uninjured, and police allegedly located suspected blue fentanyl and cocaine. The driver provided a breath sample reportedly twice the legal limit, police said.
A 27-year-old from Toronto was charged with two counts of operation while impaired and two counts of drug possession. The driver was also charged with driving while prohibited, resisting a peace officer, and failure to comply with a release order and probation order.
