A Tillsonburg woman plans to use part of her $50,000 lottery prize money to purchase a new vehicle.
Maryke Den Otter of Tillsonburg won a $50,000 prize on an Instant Bingo Doubler ticket she purchased at D.N.T. Variety on Broadway Street.
“I was having a coffee at home after work while playing my ticket. I noticed I uncovered all four corners and then the whole box,” the part-time retail worker told lottery officers at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto when she picked up her prize. “I couldn’t believe it. I gasped when I realized I won $50,000!”
Den Otter said she called her daughter immediately to share news of her win. “She is happy for me and told me I deserve it,” she smiled.
After buying a vehicle, Den Otter plans to save the rest of the money. “It’s nice to have a little nest for a rainy day,” she concluded.
