A 23-year-old Tilbury man has been charged with three child pornography-related offences.

Chatham-Kent police announced his arrest and the seizure of his electronic devices Thursday.

The charges came after the service’s internet child exploitation unit held conducted an investigation into the online circulation of child sexual abuse material from April to July.

The man was released with an Aug. 19 court date.

Criminal harassment

A 37-year-old Chatham man was charged with criminal harassment and three counts of failing to comply with his release conditions Wednesday after allegedly driving by a Dover Township woman’s home and following her.

He was under conditions to not communicate with the woman or go near her home.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Neighbour dispute

A 46-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to comply with his release conditions Wednesday after police responded to a neighbour dispute in Chatham.

The man was bound by conditions to not communicate with his neighbour, but police said he yelled at the neighbour “a couple different times” on Wednesday.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Assault charge

A 43-year-old Thamesville woman was charged with assault for allegedly punching a man while walking with him Wednesday night.

She was released with a Sept. 16 court date.

Failing to comply

A 29-year-old Dresden woman was charged with four counts of failing to comply with her release conditions Wednesday.

She’d been released from court twice since late June with conditions to stay in her home at all times and to not possess a cellphone, but Chatham-Kent police responding to a disturbance in Blenheim on Wednesday said she was hiding outside behind a garbage can with a cellphone.

She was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Traffic enforcement

Nine drivers were charged with speeding through the posted 40 kilometre-per-hour zone on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham on Wednesday morning.

Four drivers were charged with speeding on Longwoods Road on Wednesday.

Careless driving

A 29-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident after Chatham-Kent police went to a single-vehicle collision on Thirteenth Line between Four Rod Road and Bloomfield Road on Wednesday morning.

Police said the vehicle was in the ditch and the driver was hiding a short distance away with minor injuries.

Damage was estimated at $3,000.
