Three new cases, more recoveries in Southwestern public health region Friday

Southwestern public health reported three new cases of COVID-19 in the area on Friday, but active case numbers dipped again as seven more people recovered.

There are now 54 active cases of COVID-19 in the region and 164 people have recovered, an increase of seven from Thursday. There have been 223 total cases of the virus.

There are now just seven cases of the virus in Oxford County, all in Tillsonburg. There are 47 in the Elgin and St. Thomas region, including 29 in Aylmer, 13 in Bayham and five in St. Thomas.

Southwestern public health has tested 19,822 people to date, and about 1.1 per cent of tests are coming back positive for the virus.
