A Simcoe man plans to use some of his $52,638.50 lottery prize money for a trip to Europe with his wife.
Gaston Blair won second prize in the December 23 Lotto 6/49 draw.
The retiree, who has been playing the lottery for more than 20 years, said his wife didn’t believe his luck.
“I checked my ticket on Dec. 24 at home using the OLG app. My wife heard the winning jingle and I said, ‘Oh I won $52,000!’ She didn’t believe me but when she saw for herself, she was so excited,” he told lottery officials at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
“I feel good. This is a nice amount to win,” said the father and grandfather.
Blair purchased his ticket at the Real Canadian Superstore in Simcoe.
