Seven people who work at Fernlea have tested positive for COVID-19. All of the people are self-isolating, the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit announced Sunday.

Although Fernlea is in the H-N health unit’s region, a number of the affected individuals live elsewhere.

The health unit did not release the total number of people who have tested positive and did not identify the other workplaces or places of worship. Positive cases are recorded in the jurisdiction in which the person lives not where they work, said a media release.

Norfolk and Haldimand entered Stage 3 of the province’s economic re-opening plan on Friday.

As of Sunday morning, the health unit had recorded 451 lab-confirmed positive cases and 395 recoveries of COVID-19. There have been 32 deaths in the two counties from the disease.

Updates will be provided, the health unit said.
