Search warrant leads to arrest in Tillsonburg

The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, executed a search warrant at an address on Broadway in Tillsonburg Thursday afternoon.

The warrant was executed on Feb. 14 without incident and a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Vincent Propper of Tillsonburg was charged with: Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused was later released on a Promise to Appear.

Also while executing the search warrant, one adult male and one adult female were arrested on unrelated outstanding criminal warrants and were turned over to the charging police agency without incident.

The investigation is continuing.

Two SWOX break-and-enter suspects arrested

The Ontario Provincial Police Oxford Detachment responded to a theft in progress call reported at a residence on Salford Road, near Zenda Line in South-West Oxford Township, near the Norwich Township border.

The incident was reported Friday, Feb. 15, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Police, through investigation, discovered a barn on the property had been broken into and several items taken.

An abandoned vehicle was located off the roadway near the residence and several stolen items from the barn were recovered there.

OPP tracked two suspects and located one on the South-West Oxford Township property and one on a nearby Norwich Township property. Both males were arrested without incident.

Charged in relation to the break, enter and theft are the following: Collin Eustache, a 38-year-old male from Woodstock, Trespassing at night (2 counts); Personation with intent to avoid arrest (Identity Fraud); Break and Enter; Possession of a prohibited device; Possession of break in instruments; Possession of property obtained by crime – Under $5,000 (2 counts); Fail to Appear/Comply with Order (2 counts); and Fail to Comply with Probation order.

Nathan Carr, 42-year-old male of Norwich Township was charged with Break and Enter; Trespassing at night (2 counts); Possession of property obtained by crime – Under $5,000 (2 counts); Possession of break in instruments; and Fail to Comply with Probation order.

Both accused were held for bail hearings. The investigation is continuing.

The OPP ask residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles in your neighborhoods. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
