Sangudo resident charged with robbery in Whitecourt

Whitecourt RCMP charged 23-year-old Adam Duplessie of Sangudo, Alta. with robbery and disguise with intent.

The Whitecourt RCMP detachment added that the assistance of the public was invaluable to helping with the case.

“The assistance of the public in this investigation was invaluable and have led to the recovery of important evidence, including the alleged weapon,” said Cst. Alex Ayres of Whitecourt RCMP in a media release.

Duplessie was on the run after Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 at 4:05 a.m. when he, the lone suspect, entered the 7-Eleven store located on the corner of 50 Ave and 51 Street of Whitecourt with a tire thumper. The suspect demanded money from the clerk, who complied with the demand, at which time the suspect departed on foot according to a media release sent out by the Whitecourt RCMP.

Duplessie is currently still on the run with his whereabouts still being unknown. He was last known to be in Edmonton. The suspect is said to be a 5’5 male with a light skin tone and an average build.
