Reported COVID-19 cases in Oxford reaches eight

Southwestern Public Health confirmed Friday morning another new COVID-19 case in Oxford County.

The new case has been listed as a 50s male. His status is pending.

As of April 3rd, Southwestern Public Health has identified 8 cases in Oxford County, half of them since Thursday, April 2nd.

They include two 50s females (one pending status, one self-isolating), one 30s female (self-isolating), and one 60s male (self-isolating). Two cases have been resolved, and one case was hospitalized. There have been no reported COVID-19 deaths in Oxford County.

In the Southwestern Public Health region, covering Oxford and Elgin Counties and the City of St. Thomas, there have been 426 tests to date. The region has had 20 confirmed cases, including three that have been resolved (no longer infectious) and two deaths (both in Elgin County). 269 tests were negative and 137 tests are pending.
