POLICE: Officer assaulted

Brockville police have charged a man with assaulting police after an officer was struck in the groin on Wednesday.

Officers were called at 7:22 p.m. to the Henry Street area for a male suspect who was reportedly climbing on vehicles and “acting in a bizarre manner,” police reported on Friday.

Officers found a 50-year-old man in the area and identified him as the suspect.

While police spoke to the suspect, “he struck one of the officers in the groin,” police added.

Police arrested the man and released him with a future court date.

Bail violations

Kingston police on Thursday arrested a 38-year-old woman wanted by the Brockville Police Service.

Brockville police had a warrant for her arrest for failing to comply with a release condition from an incident in July.

She was arrested and returned to Brockville where she was held in custody for a bail hearing.
