A 37-year-old Norwich man has been charged with drug possession after police responded to Norwich Avenue at Montclair Drive.

Police were on patrol Saturday around 5 p.m., when they observed a male allegedly “slumped over” in the driver’s seat of a car. The individual was later found to allegedly be in possession of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamines, break-in equipment and cash.

A 37-year-old Norwich man was arrested and charged with possession of drugs, counterfeit currency and break-in instruments.

This comes as police warn that officers and local paramedics responded to multiple overdoses in the region over the weekend. Naloxone kits can be found at local pharmacies and and through Southwestern public health.

Stolen vehicle recovered

Woodstock police have charged one person after a vehicle previously reported stolen was recovered on Friday afternoon.

The Woodstock police community response unit located licence plates and a vehicle previously reported stolen from Ingersoll on Friday morning.

A 30-year-old Woodstock woman was charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

One charged after sleeping man found in home

Police have charged a Woodstock man after responding to a home in the city.

Police responded around 11:30 p.m. Friday night to a home on Main Street for a report of an unknown male sleeping on a living room couch in a home.

A 41-year-old Woodstock man was charged with forcible entry. Police are encouraging residents to be diligent and consider investing in a home security system that alerts homeowners of activity around their homes.
