Pedestrian dies after struck by vehicle in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are investigating the death of a 59-year-old Chatham man who died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning in Chatham.

Police said emergency crews were called to a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Grand Avenue, west of Keil Drive North in Chatham, just before 8:30 a.m.

The vehicle was travelling west on Grand Avenue West when the driver struck a pedestrian who had entered the roadway, police said.

The victim was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, where he was pronounced deceased, police said.
