Two members of the community contacted police after receiving scam emails attempting to extort them.
The male and female residents both were at the receiving end of emails that indicated their accounts had been hacked and that the hackers were in possession of their passwords.
The email also indicated that they were aware of the adult websites that were visited and if they refused to forward any money, pictures and video of them and the adult pornography sites visited would be forwarded to everyone in their contact list.
No money was forwarded and no personal information was provided. The victims realized that this was a scam trying to extort money and immediately contacted police after receiving the email.
