“When fire crews arrived on scene, they found an attached garage fully engulfed and had extended to the home,” department officials said in a release. “Heavy smoke and high winds hampered firefighting efforts and forced crews to perform defensive operation.”

Stations No. 18 Blenheim, No. 17 Merlin and tanker support from Stations No. 15 Raleigh North and No. 12 Harwich North were also on scene to assist, the fire department said.

There were no injuries and damage was estimated at $400,000, the department said, adding the cause was undetermined.
