Along with being recognized for fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students, staff and faculty, Morris was also singled out for being a champion for equality and accessibility in education, an individual who made strong and lasting bonds with local industry during her tenure at the college. Morris first joined Lambton College in 2002 as vice president academic & student success and was named president and CEO in 2012. She retired in June 2021.

The three other individuals who were given Lifetime Achievement Awards at the event were also former president and CEOs of colleges, including Ann Buller (Centennial College), Daniel J. Patterson (Niagara College) and Fred Gibbons (Northern College).

Dunlop thanked all four for their contributions to education in the province.

“I would like to extend my deepest congratulations to these leaders who have shown commitment and promoted excellence to advance Ontario’s world-class college system,” Dunlop said. “When individuals act as ambassadors in this way, they not only support students, colleges and local communities, but the economic strength of the entire province.”
