Drive-through Panorama planned for 2020

The 2020 Christmas Panorama will be a drive-through experience.

The River of Lights will be viewable by car from Dec. 5 to Jan 3.

“Although 2020 has been different in many aspects, one thing is for certain; our Christmas lights will shine on and the spirit of Christmas will ring through Norfolk County,” said a press release from the committee.

“Trust us: we considered every scenario of how to manage social distancing, increase and introduce disinfecting protocols for all touchpoints, and ensure that visitors felt safe enough to come enjoy the lights and displays,” the release continued. “This paired with reduced resources from not being able to hold our fundraising events and the inability to work on our displays as a team was a challenging task.”

A map for temporary road closures was included in the Norfolk County council package earlier this month showing the roads that will be impacted. The map shows that there will be no parking on Crescent Blvd., Bonnie Dr., and sections of Norfolk St. N., and Kent St. N. Alligator Lane will be fully closed and there will be no access to the parking area in Wellington Park.

The Panorama committee has created a list of ways for community members to get involved this year, with full details available at

A Light Up the County competition will be going on, where any Norfolk County resident can decorate the outside of their house and enter the contest.

A Holiday Magic show featuring illusionist Lucas Wilson and special guest appearances presented by the Norfolk Milk Producer Committee has early bird tickets available on the Panorama website.

Countdown to Christmas, a series of videos, will be posted by the Panorama featuring local BIA businesses.

The Panorama committee is asking for donations to its ongoing GoFundMe page to help ensure all of the lights and displays will be ready for Christmas 2021. The fundraiser can be found at
