Crime Stoppers takes aim at fentanyl traffickers

Crime Stoppers of Haldimand-Norfolk is offering a $1,000 reward for information that directly leads to the arrest of local fentanyl traffickers.

“Traffickers of fentanyl and its derivatives continue to operate in our communities,” said a news release issued by the organization. “Their total disregard for those afflicted with addictions have caused deaths and overdoses in our community.”

The substances also pose a hazard to first responders and law enforcement “who come into direct contact with this drug,” said the release.

Until June 30, Crime Stoppers of Haldimand Norfolk also offering a rewards ranging from $500 to $1,000 for information that results in significant seizures by police of illicit Fentanyl or its derivatives.

“Fentanyl is a terrible drug,” said the release. “We are not immune from it. It’s not a ‘big city’ problem. It’s prevalent everywhere. It has made, and continues to make, a significant adverse impact on our local communities.”
