Norfolk OPP say 50-year-old Jeff Scott, owner and CEO of Great Lakes Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine in Simcoe, was struck by a vehicle travelling west on Concession 10 Townsend at about 5:30 p.m. He died at the scene.

Family and friends shared memories of Scott in social media posts on Friday morning.

“My dad was my best friend. If you knew Jeff you knew how close him and I were and how much him and I loved each other,” Jeff’s son, Jackson Scott, wrote in a Facebook post. “We didn’t have a typical father/son relationship. We were best friends. We did everything together, hung out, boat, ski, chirped, drank, you name it we did it.

“I loved him so much. I will always remember how much of a goofball and how much he loved life and how much he brought joy and smiles to everyone around him. He was the best friend a son could ask for,” the post continued.

Reports say that Jeff Scott was outside his pickup truck in front of his property when the collision occurred.

“It’s just a tragic thing for our community and for his family,” Waterford Coun. Kim Huffman said on Thursday.

The official Great Lakes Physiotherapy Facebook page also acknowledged his passing, with a post signed by the staff.

“To know Jeff, was to love him. He brought so many smiles and jokes to the clinic, and lit up any room he entered,” said the post. “It didn’t matter who you were, if you were in need of help or a friend, Jeff was there. We truly can’t put into words how much he meant to all of us, but I know looking around at all of the broken hearts, that says enough.”

Police collision investigators and members of the OPP West Region Reconstruction Team are assisting with the investigation.

Concession 10 Townsend between Cockshutt and Blueline roads was closed for approximately six hours for investigation.

Great Lakes Physiotherapy will be closed until further notice to allow the family and staff time to grieve.

A memory book is being put together for Jeff’s children. Patients, family, and friends are asked to email glavesm@gmail.com with “Jeff Scott” as the subject line and include either photos or memories shared with Jeff. Contributors are asked to include their name and to keep the memories short and sweet.

Funeral arrangements are unknown at this time.
