Dr. Deena Hinshaw took to Twitter over the weekend to post encouragement for people to take everyday action to help stop the spread.

“As always, remember that, in taking steps to limit the spread, you are protecting everyone around you – including those at a higher risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19. Remember who you’re protecting,” Hinshaw said. “If anyone is tired of following the public health guidance, or feels they are not at risk of COVID-19, please remember the importance of your actions. Every one of us acts as a shield that protects our friends, families and neighbours.”

Friday was the first day outdoor concerts with singers and wind instruments were permitted, as well as outdoor hot tubs and whirlpools, and indoor trade shows and exhibits.

This coming Thursday, some visitor restrictions in long-term care homes are scheduled to be lifted, which means tow people would be allowed for indoor visits and four visitors can come for outdoor visits. Facilities are expected to each create a new visitor policy that may be less restrictive if all residents agree.
