Brant Community Health Hub gets $100,000 boost

The Brant Community Health Hub got another financial boost with a $100,000 contribution from a Brantford company.
Vicano Developments Limited recently pledged the money to the fundraising campaign for the project.
The County of Brant has launched a $2-million fundraising campaign to help offset the hub’s total cost of $13 million. Construction began last August and is expected to be completed this year.
Located at 25 Curtis Avenue North in Paris, the hub will be more than 41,000 square feet and offer, under one roof, a range of community health care services, including family physicians, health care practitioners, community support agencies, health supplies and other health care and social services.
Fundraising will help lower the cost of the project to the municipality.
Mayor David Bailey said the county is thrilled to receive another large donation.
“Vicano Developments Limited is a local industry leader known for their strong community partnerships and honourable community support,” said Bailey.
Company president Peter Vicano said he was pleased to contribute to the project.
“We are a long-standing family-operated business that prides itself on community. Having lived in this community all our lives, we understand how important the Brant Community Health Hub facility will be for local residents and the role it will play in supporting a healthy community.”
The building will be comprised of sustainable design features such as a vegetated “green” roof, solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations and energy efficient fixtures and equipment.
