The new CEO of Norfolk General Hospital has been announced.
Lucy Bonanno will take over the role of president and CEO effective Aug. 31.
Bonanno will also serve as the CEO of West Haldimand General Hospital under the existing agreement between the two facilities.
A press release sent out by NGH says Bonanno has over 20 years of experience working in health care and leading complex system transformation initiatives in rural and smaller community settings.
“I’m thrilled with the opportunity to join a team of health care professionals, volunteers and community donors who make a difference for patients and their families every day,” Bonanno said in the release. “As safe, efficient family-centred health care organizations, I’m looking forward to learning more about the people, the culture and the communities that make Norfolk General, West Haldimand General and Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home so special and recognized as innovative leaders among their peers in Ontario.”
For the past five years, Bonanno has served as CEO at Geraldton District Hospital, overseeing the hospital, including a long-term care wing.
Bonanno is a certified health executive with a Master of Business Administration in Executive Management and a Master of Arts in Leadership.
Bonanno replaces Kelly Isfan, who left Norfolk General Hospital earlier this year for a position at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay.
