The AGCO announced on Wednesday that the 15-day public notice phase had begun for a Cannabis Grey Bruce retail store in Unit 9 of the Rockford Plaza on Grey Road 18.

Cannabis Grey Bruce already has a store operating in Owen Sound, while a location in Southampton opened on Jan. 11 offering curbside pick-up and delivery due to Ontario’s current emergency and stay-at-home orders.

Two other government-regulated stores are also operating in Grey-Bruce – Capturing Eden in Owen Sound and Budzz Pot Shop in Port Elgin.

The Rockford application brings to 15 the number of locations in Grey-Bruce currently undergoing the government’s application process to open retail stores. The proposed locations include three more in Owen Sound, three in Hanover, two in Thornbury and one each in Port Elgin, Sauble Beach, Kincardine, Walkerton, Meaford, and the Blue Mountains.

Written submissions about the Rockford application will be accepted for 15 days.

According to the AGCO website, it receives hundreds of new applications monthly, and plans to issue about 80 retail store authorizations per month as stores become ready.
