Impaired driving charges laid

A driver whom police spotted travelling fast and through an intersection without stopping is facing several charges.

A press release says officers spotted the vehicle on Gibbs Street around 1:25 a.m. Monday travelling at a high rate of speed.

Officers followed the vehicle and saw it drive through an intersection with a stop sign without stopping. A traffic stop was conducted on River Road and, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
The accused provided multiple breath samples and was subsequently charged.
Danni Gibbs, 27, has been charged with operation while impaired by drugs and/or alcohol and having a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.
He will appear in court on April 22.
