The free grab bags – sponsored by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada – are full of art supplies, including sketchbooks, embroidery thread and wash tape.

“While it’s been hard for us to get out and participate in the community during the pandemic, we still want to support activities like this,” said Ricardo DeSouza, vice-president of manufacturing at Toyota. “We’re especially happy to work with the Woodstock Art Gallery on this initiative, helping to inspire the next generation.”

The gallery will hand out 500 free bags on Saturday, April 10. In February, the gallery gave away 300 bags for Family Day, all of which were spoken for in 10 minutes.

“We were shocked and delighted to see hundreds of people lined up around the corner and down the street for our first art grab bag,” said gallery director and curator Mary Reid.

“There is an incredible demand for this program and we are grateful to once again have the support of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada to provide free art supplies to our community.”

The bags will be for curbside pickup on Saturday at the gallery at 449 Dundas St. at 10 a.m., with a limit of two bags per family. Residents are reminded to wear a mask and socially distance.
