ArtWithPanache is featuring works by the artists’ group in the Portside with Panache show until July 28.

“From different walks of life, experiences, styles and backgrounds, the Portside Gallery Artists enjoy a warm and competitive companionship, sharing their love of art and creativity,” said Mary Lillyman, ArtWithPanache’s artistic director.

The exhibition, originally set to open April 1, was delayed by pandemic restrictions.

The group of about a dozen artists once were a tourist attraction in Port Stanley at the Portside Gallery until the gallery closed.

“Not only their styles differ, but also the mediums in which they work. Susan Shurish plays with colour, line, shape and texture creating her abstract collages,” Lillyman said.

“Betty Burrell has recently experimented with abstracts that have a story. It’s all about the story for Kit Cutting, too. She tells it through painting and sculpting; some of her works are life-size papier-mâché. Patti Fisher creates her whimsical pieces using watercolour and mixed media Batik.”
