The Scottish-born, Edmonton-based artist is nominated for a Juno Award for roots album of the year, being announced Sunday, for Joyful Banner Blazing. She will be presented in London by the Cuckoo’s Nest Folk Club.

Dunn is known for the social awareness of her songwriting and has been compared to the legendary American folk artist Woodie Guthrie, singing about ordinary people past and present and the issues they face.

Joyful Banner Blazing has been acclaimed by critics, and has been at or near the top of the charts for the last year. In promotional materials, the album is described as celebrating “resilience, grace, gratitude, solidarity, joy and the love that fires our actions to make the world a better place.”

Dunn was also nominated for Junos for her albums For a Song (2001) and Gathering (2016) while her albums The Peddler (2008) and Piece By Piece (2012) were nominated for Canadian Folk Music Awards.

Proof of vaccination is required to attend the show and masks must be worn throughout the concert.
