Gisele Bundchen is tackling rumours that she cheated on ex-husband Tom Brady, the NFL legend.

“That is a lie,” the Brazilian supermodel said in an interview with the New York Times in which she also questioned whether the outlandish claims of adultery are simply because she’s a woman.

Bundchen, who rarely opens up to the media about her personal life, was addressing the speculation for the first time since the reports of infidelity emerged.

“I really don’t want to make my life a tabloid,” Bundchen said. “I don’t want to open myself up to all of that.”

Bundchen reportedly has been dating her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente in June 2023 after she and Brady announced their divorce in Oct. 2022.

However, Bundchen and Valente were spotted having dinner together weeks after the announcement in Nov. 2022, while Brady reportedly believes the pair had been involved before the split.

“If she wants to have people think she has been dating Joaquim only since June, so be it, but they have been together longer and they aren’t taking it slow. Tom has accepted it,” an insider claimed to the Daily Mail last month.

Bundchen, who has two children with Brady, said she finds it unfair that she has been the target of these rumours, which have been “amplified” due to her celebrity.

“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” Bundchen said in the interview. “They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course, for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”

Speaking generally about relationships, she added “no one really knows what happens between two people, only the two people in the relationship.”

While she did also confirm to the Times that she is currently dating, she did not mention Valente.

“This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,” she said. “It’s very different. It is very honest and it’s very transparent.”
