The LCBO is sticking with an airline-related partner as it reintroduces a loyalty program.
Before the end of 2021 customers will be able to pick up some Aeroplan miles with their booze purchases at Ontario liquor stores.
Aeroplan is Air Canada’s loyalty program.
The long-standing LCBO and Air Miles partnership ended back in April.
When the partnership launches sometime in late 2021, Aeroplan members will be able to earn an Aeroplan point for every $4 spent at the LCBO, as well as bonus points on certain products (similar to how they could do the same with Air Miles) and redeem points for LCBO gift cards at the Aeroplan online store. A $10 gift card will cost 1,000 Aeroplan points.
“We’re thrilled to come together with the LCBO to offer our members a new way to earn and redeem Aeroplan points in Ontario,” said Mark Nasr, Air Canada senior vice-president, products, marketing and ecommerce, in a release.
“When we relaunched Aeroplan last year, we made a commitment to earn our way into consumer’s everyday lives. Marquee partnerships like the LCBO and other industry-leading, well-loved brands are central to delivering on that promise.”
LCBO president and CEO George Soleas said the partnership “will provide rewarding and personalized offerings to our customers that enhance their experience.
“It will also provide an important engagement opportunity for our valued suppliers, including Ontario producers, and make it even easier for shoppers to find the perfect choice for every occasion,” he said in the release.
