La Renaissance students showcase their favourite animals and its environment
Recently, the Grade 1 students at Ecole catholique La Renaissance got the chance to illustrate an animal species of their choice, complete with its native flora and fauna. According to a press release, the students put the information about their creature of choice into “fabricated models using a variety of recycled materials to illustrate the animal of their choice and their natural habitat.”
Local woman competing for second time in national empowerment pageant
Rosalind M. Russell will be competing in the upcoming Mrs. & Ms. Regional Canada Empowerment Pageant, representing LaCloche Foothills Region for the second year in a row. The morning host and regional news anchor for Moose 99.3 FM Espanola says this region includes the Town of Espanola as well as the townships of Nairn & Hyman, Baldwin and Sables-Spanish Rivers.
Maamwesying Ontario Health Team and Algoma Public Health sign agreement
On March 27, the Maamwesying North Shore Community Health Services, as a core partner of the Maamwesying Ontario Health Team, signed a collaboration agreement with Algoma Public Health. The agreement follows the one signed in partnership with the Espanola Regional Hospital and Health Centre on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024. Both agreements are tailored to meet the needs of Indigenous peoples.
