Price discrimination Recently, I’ve noticed an increase in special offers granted customers who buy items in bulk over those who buy a single product. Grocers are advertising two for $5 (or $3.50 each) or four for $8 (or $2.50 each). Book stores are advertising paperbacks two for $15 (when one can cost from $8.99 to $11.99). Larger paperbacks are three for $10 (or $6 each). Our lovely Brantford Farmers’ Market jumped on the wagon this past weekend with Florida strawberries selling for two baskets for $7 (or $4.50 each).
