Tillsonburg Job Fair offers opportunities

All job seekers are welcome to attend a Job Fair at the Tillsonburg Community Centre on Tuesday, April 10.
The event, open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Lions Auditorium, 45 Hardy Avenue, is being organized by Employment Services from the Tillsonburg Multi-Service Centre in conjunction with the Town of Tillsonburg.
"We continue to add employers to our list of participating employers," said Maureen Vandenberghe, Employment Services/Livingston Centre Manager. "We've got 17 employers signed on, and we've got almost another month to go, so we expect to have anywhere between 25 and 35 employers."
Employers are asked to register a booth no later than Monday, April 2 by contacting Vandenberghe at mvandenberghe@multiservicecentre.com or call 519-842-9008 ext 270.
No registration is required for visitors, however.
"It's just come in and meet with the employers," said Vandenberghe.
The April 10 job fair is a followup to successful August and October fairs organized by the Town of Tillsonburg and Siemens personnel after the July announcement of the Tillsonburg blade manufacturing plant closing.
"The Multi-Service Centre and Employment Ontario were involved in that as well," Vandenberghe noted. "So the Town and MSC have wanted to build on that because employers are looking for people - and people are looking for work - and it was a success. It was just a good fit."
There is no cost involved in registering a booth or for job seekers on the 10th.
